MT LAUREL SCHEDULE

KEY CODE:  ***Must be 7yrs old to register.  +++Must currently take Ballet. ###Must currently take Jazz.  @@@Must be potty trained.  

+++In order to take Lyrical/Contemporary you must have 2yrs of ballet experience, be at least 7 yrs, and currently taking a ballet class along with your Lyrical class.

*** In order to take Musical Theatre or Modern you must be at least 8yrs of age.

###In order to take Hip Hop you must be at least 7yrs of age.

^^^In order to take Leaps/Turns, you must currently take Jazz and have at least 3 years of Jazz or Ballet experience.

Twinkle Babies & Twinkle Stars:  Ages 2-6yrs.  Our Twinkle Star Dance Program is a fantastic way to start your child in a dance class and develop a love and appreciation for the arts.  See Preschool Page for more info!

Tot Hop:  Beginner Hip Hop class for ages 4-6yrs.

Tiny Tumblers:  Beginner Acrobatics class for ages 4-6yrs.

Showstars:  This program is specifically designed or 6-7yr olds. (Dancers who are turning 7 throughout the school year)

Ballet: A disciplined class using ballet technique.

Jazz: This is a classical Jazz class that uses ballet techniques.  Taking Ballet along with Jazz enhances your skills.  Taking Ballet is encouraged but not required.

Tap: Tap dance is a form of dance that uses tap shoes to make intricate sounds.  Broadway & later Rhythm style Tap dance is learned in this class.

Modern: This class uses ballet technique, suspension, fall and release.  Pioneers of Modern dance are Martha Graham and Isadora Duncan to give an example.  Taking Ballet along with Modern will enhance your skills.  Taking Ballet is encouraged but not required.  Must be at least 8yrs old to enroll.

Hip Hop: This class utilizes the foundation of hip hop.  In this class you will learn Breakin, Lockin, Poppin, Old School, House, and also using popular dance music to learn new school hip hop.  Must be at least 7yrs old to enroll.

Lyrical/Contemporary: Using ballet technique, students will learn to tell a story and use emotion through dance movements.  Must be at least 7yrs old and have at least 2yrs of Ballet experience and currently take ballet.

Musical Theatre: Your dancer will receive classes in Broadway dance (Ballet/Jazz technique), set to popular Broadway musicals along with some vocal and acting exercises.  Dancers must be at least 8yrs old.

Acro:  This is an acrobatics class.  Beginner level is for dancers who have little to no previous dance experience or acro experience.  Intermediate level is for dancers who have dance experience and can do a cartwheel and backbend.

Leaps & Turns:  This class utilizes stretching, strengthening & conditioning to be used for various progressions and combinations that incorporate leaps and turns.  Dancers must have 3yrs of Jazz experience and must currently train in Jazz along with Leaps and Turns.

Pointe: This class is by teacher invitation.  You need to take Ballet Technique before your Pointe class.
